Anonymous: i enjoy your blog, but the music you're into is the farthest thing from hardcore /:

thank you, but let me explain some things though. the url was one of the first things i came up with when i was thinking of a url, all the other options were taken and now i’m kind of stuck with it, but i love it. hardcore doesn’t just refer to music, it refers also to a lifestyle. i suppose the url was ultimately suppose to symbolise “rock on” or something along those lines, almost like ‘don’t get sucked into the mainstream bullshit, stay hardcore.’ which is kind of contradictory judging on the fact i listen to a lot of bands that could be classified as mainstream bullshit, but i like to mix it up. my blog (and the music section on the page) does not accurately represent the music i listen to. I try to post to a wider audience, if i posted all the bands i listen to i’d have a blog full of people hardly anyone had ever heard of, which wouldn’t be great. i like to post more of the people who inspire me. which just so happens to be a load of post-hardcore, pop-punk bands with a few metal bands chucked in because ultimately they’re the ones in the so-called limelight; on magazine covers, in interviews all over the place, etc. this ended up being kind of long, but what i’m saying is ‘hardcore’ is not only in reference to music.
